Forest bathing, also known as Shinrin Yoku, originates from Japan, where it has become popular for its stress reducing effects. The calming effect of the forest is well known, and you may have experienced how relaxing nature can be.
During a forest bath, you don’t bathe in water but immerse yourself in the surrounding nature. The forest provides deep relaxation, and although your senses are fully engaged, you become deeply relaxed.
In Japan, research has shown that forest bathing leads to lower cortisol levels (stress hormone), lower blood pressure, and increased white blood cells. Stress and anxiety decrease while you get a stronger immune system and sleep better.
During the forest bath we move slowly, and you are guided to achieve a strong presence. It’s a relaxing session where you can let go of everything and feel completely free to just be.
